An integer programming model for two- and three-stage two-dimensional cutting stock problems

چکیده
In this paper, an integer programming model for two-dimensional cutting stock problems is proposed. In the problems addressed, it is intended to cut a set of small rectangular items of given sizes from a set of larger rectangular plates in such a way that the total number of used plates is minimized. The two-stage and three-stage, exact and non-exact, problems are considered. Other issues are also addressed, as the rotation of items, the length of the cuts and the value of the remaining plates. The new integer programming model can be seen as an extension of the ‘‘one-cut model” proposed by Dyckhoff for the one-dimensional cutting stock problem. In the proposed model, each decision variable is associated with cutting one item from a plate or from a part of a plate resulting from previous cuts (resid-

Models for the two-dimensional two-stage cutting stock problem with multiple stock size
We consider a Two-Dimensional Cutting Stock Problem (2DCSP) where stock of different sizes is available, and a set of rectangular items has to be obtained through two-stage guillotine cuts. We propose and computationally compare three Mixed-Integer Programming models for the 2DCSP developing formulations from the literature. The first two models have a polynomial and pseudo-polynomial number of...
متن کاملAn Algorithm for Two Dimensional Cutting Stock Problems with Demand
In this paper, two-dimensional cutting stock problem with demand has been studied. In this problem, cutting of large rectangular sheets into specific small pieces should be carried out hence, the waste will be minimized. Solving this problem is important to decrease waste materials in any industry that requires cutting of sheets. In most previus studies, the demand of pieces has not been usually...

متن کاملTwo-stage two-dimensional guillotine cutting stock problems with usable leftover
In this study we are concerned with the non-exact two-stage two-dimensional guillotine cutting problem considering usable leftovers, in which stock plates remainders of the cutting patterns (non-used material or trim loss) can be used in the future, if they are large enough to fulfill future demands of items (ordered smaller plates). This cutting problem can be characterized as a residual bin-p...
متن کاملA branch-and-price algorithm for the two-stage guillotine cutting stock problem
We investigate the two-stage guillotine two-dimensional cutting stock problem. This problem commonly arises in the industry when small rectangular items need to be cut out of large stock sheets. We propose an integer programming formulation that extends the well-known Gilmore and Gomory model by explicitly considering solutions that are obtained by both slitting some stock sheets down their wid...
